This symposium is focused on the Small UAS community (Group I, Group II, and Group III) with an understanding of the impact of existing, advancing and asymmetric threats in Joint Warfighting and Homeland Security.

The symposium will feature Keynote Addresses by Brigadier General Tim Crosby, USA—PEO, Aviation, US Army and Captain J.R. Brown, USN—PM, PMA-263. Other Presentations will be made by the Military users reporting on Current Warfighting Operations. Policy makers will present Acquisition Plans & Emerging Requirements, while Industry and Academia will offer Technology Opportunities. We expect to hear Lessons Learned from Small UAS Operators and will host exhibits with SUAS Themes. The symposium will present numerous networking receptions. Symposium Sessions will focus on Airspace Deconfliction/Integration, Precision Targeting/Networking, Operator Workload/Training, and Mission Systems. Each session will look to provide three perspectives:

  2. Requirements/Acquisition Plans for these problems

SECURITY CLEARANCE INFORMATION (Download a Security Form (PDF))

This meeting is being conducted at the unclassified level on June 22, therefore, no clearance is needed. However from June 23-24 all sessions will be classified Secret/NOFORN and ALL attendee's, speakers, JHU/APL employees and guests must follow the following procedures.

NOTE: APL employees - please call visitor control and make sure your name is put on the list for this event. If you are not on the list when you show up to attend you will not be allowed to attend until you follow the procedure.

Security clearances must be sent to JHU/APL; the preferred method is via JPAS, using our SMO code 888984; list SUAS-10 as the meeting purpose and Steve Waugh as the POC. Alternately, clearances may be sent via fax to 240-228-6400 or 443-778-6400.

SUAS-10 is being conducted at the Secret/NOFORN Level on June 23 and 24, 2010. Briefcases, large purses, call phone, pagers and other electronic items are NOT allowed inside the auditorium and must be left outside the auditorium. We will provide zip lock bags and a table for this purpose.

Attendees are advised that cell phone detectors will be in use. Only the final program may be taken into the meeting room. Note taking is prohibited due to the classified nature of this meeting.
